Two Sneaky Ways Stress Creeps In & One Trick That’ll Work on Stress Every Time

Stress Comes Along With Life's Big And Little Changes

Everyone knows the feeling of tight shoulders when we’ve taken on too many obligations.

But who knows which is the root cause?

Is it the tight shoulders? Or the obligations?

Everyone is looking for Root Cause in healing. Whether it’s in talk therapy, physical therapy, diets, you name it!

The healing journey often starts with the confusing moment when you’re thinking,

“What’s going wrong with my health?”

Sometimes the confusion stays for years… and you’re searching for answers for years.

Stress Comes Before We Even Know It's A Problem

When you were younger, were you told,

“Don’t Cry, You’ll Be Fine”

For generations, we have been disconnected from our body’s own messages that are designed as early stress signals. Have you ever heard,

“No Pain No Gain”

As adults, we may not notice the negative impact of these axioms. We have always just been expected to power-through hard times and accept exhaustion & loneliness as the norm.

The Trick(s) That You Can Perfect

Nervous System Regulation – The Fun Way

The somatic perspective gives us a whole different question we need to ask in order to access a deeper root problem that nobody has been asking.

And the expert who knows the answer is YOU

If you haven’t learned how to tap into your deep questions, I teach you in a fun way!

FAQs

What clothing do I wear?

Loose, movable, breathable clothing is best. However, jeans and a t-shirt would also work if needs be.

What shoes should I wear?

No special shoes necessary. Any shoe that will let you move and not slip. Bare feet are also welcome if you prefer.

What if I've never danced?

This class is designed with all skill levels and body types in mind. Anyone can participate to their level of comfort. Natalie provides alternate movements to anyone who needs them.

Do I need a partner?

No partner is necessary because the focus of our class is different than a traditional social dance class. And when we practice dancer frame and connection with our classmates, we will rotate partners no matter who is in class that day.

Why is it so long?

2 hours is needed to meet two objectives. First, loosen up through music and dance enough to let your playful side shine through. Then, learn the quiet process of accessing somatic (body/emotion) information through guided mindfulness and imagery.

Give Your Nervous System More Connection

This Is The Stress-Relieving Way

Stress Accumulation Taxes Immune System

Whichever areas are constrained in your body are a clue to what to release in your mind as well.

Find this out & you can embody change.

Developing in the areas that need help will lead them to become unconstricted & give release & space to develop new attitudes & feelings… & pinpoint new ways of being & where to place new boundaries.

Holistically, we’re interconnected… Trauma formed in connection, therefore it’s better healed in connection.

We heal in supportive community.

Mini Mystery

There was a time when I couldn’t figure out why my right quad muscle felt like I pulled it. Not too serious. It was a mild one, but the feeling lasted what seemed like forever – longer than any other pulled muscle. Now, just for fun, help me think through my mini mystery…

Was I doing strenuous exercise that could explain it?

No.

My day-to-day energy levels were laughably low. I only had enough to take care of the kids’ needs each day. That felt stressful.

What other clues could I use to solve this question?

I chatted with a friend who told me her left arm was feeling the same way. She thought it was due to stress.

Could I just stretch it out?

I wouldn’t care so much about this mystery if it would just go away! But, no, my life didn’t allow extra time to focus on myself. I was always too stressed.

“I’m just getting old”

I thought, as I dismissed any thoughts of stress as a factor. I also noticed that my troublesome leg was my gas pedal leg. “Maybe my driver’s seat needs to be angled to provide more comfort,” I thought.

My Root Cause Mystery

But what about the mystery of how I became someone who:

  • Was Completely out of energy
  • Had barely enough time to chat with friends
  • Lacked time for self

Where did my thinking go wrong?

And, how did I open my eyes to the real mystery?

Turning Point

Over time, the moments of friend connections bolstered me.

Quality interactions had the power to reorient me to the peace I wanted more of.

I started to crave how I used to feel in my body, more ease.

And, once I started giving it some thought, I realized I used to be much more attuned to my body’s messages and gut reactions. Now I craved to reconnect to my inner self too.

2024

The story about my right quad muscle is true and, admittedly, boring.

Get to know me a bit for the “juicier” stories of survival mode and burnout that lasted years sending me into my ‘freeze’ state.

Oh, and don’t get me started about Covid… I’d say Covid really aged us, didn’t it?!? A large part of the Covid-blame is the isolation mindset that it brought.

We are either out of practice with getting out, or we’re like the young ones: we haven’t even learned how great it is to socialize with each other sans devices.

No matter how we got through 2020 & 2021, once the lockdown ended, we were left to choose how we’d rebuild community.

I feel very lucky because I have always had the gift of dance.

Even before I found my calling as a Somatic Reparenting Method Facilitator, my body knew how to “Dance It Out”.

But now I have studied all the ways our nervous systems benefit from movement and all the reasons our nervous systems crave connection. This is why I am called to bring you Dance Out Phx. Whether you are a parent who just needs to get out of the house; or you’ve been wanting dance to be your hobby because it puts a spring in your step, join me as we combine dance & connection & somatic awareness to feel more like ourselves than we have in a long time.
